New Broughton Village: homes for sale

Countryside Properties has launched the 180-acre New Broughton Village development.
The development is less than a mile from Manchester city centre, offering one-, three- and four-bedroom homes priced at, respectively, £70,000, £125,000 and £155,000. Countryside aims to create a 3,500-home "vibrant new community on Salford's eastern edge".

North West construction industry lights up debate

The North West Construction Knowledge Hub held a debate on green lighting, at the CUBE Gallery on Portland Street, on March 24th.
Chaired by TV's Granada Reports weatherman Fred Talbot, the event marked the launch of CUBE's
"Brighter Futures" Exhibition. The debate discussed advances in green lighting and new lighting technologies; in particular solid-state lighting, and potential energy savings and carbon emission reductions. read more
New Hub re-uses disused retail units

The University of Salford has launched the Salford Innovation and Creation Hub, described as a pop-up gallery and innovation space.
The Hub's launch took place on March 23rd in old retail space in Salford, left empty as a result of the economic downturn. Satellite events are planned for Eccles and Salford Quays. read more
Chapel Street draws creatives

The Chapel Street area is becoming the beating heart of cultural Greater Manchester, as it continues to attract creative organisations.
Fat Northerner Records is joined by the Un-convention office and Just Ask PR as the street's latest creative tenants. All three companies are now located in the former lodgings above the Black Lion pub.
