Gleeding the way to MediacityUK

Widespread support was voiced at a recent ‘Question Time’ event examining the BBC’s move to Salford.
An invited audience of journalists, planners, local authority representatives and residents joined the debate, which included Sir Steve Redgrave, Barbara Slater, director of BBC Sport, and chief executive of Salford City Council Barbara Spicer.

Investing in Salford

The Lowry Hotel provided the backdrop for the third of Central Salford URC’s well-attended 'Investing in Regeneration' events on 23 September.
Over 200 property professionals from the public and private sector attended the event, designed to showcase the regeneration work being carried out in the city - as well as to launch the third issue of Central Salford’s urban regeneration magazine. read more
Prom proposition

Peel Media has applied to Trafford Council for permission to create a pedestrian promenade and accompanying public realm outside the Imperial War Museum North.
Designed by London-based Form architects, the proposals include the creation of a stepped area built over the current canal embankment, providing a walkway and informal seating area leading down to the water’s edge.

Handover at Mediacity

The BBC will receive the keys to the first of three buildings at MediaCityUK on Monday 28 September.
Building ‘C,’ which will eventually play host to radio station BBC 5 Live and to BBC Sport, is ready for handover and the residential tower behind will be ready for people to move in from March 2010. read more
