The fountain is to form part of a regeneration project at the Greengate Embankment area, which is located close to Manchester city centre.

Chief executive of the Northwest Regional development Agency (NWDA) Steven Broomhead said the project will help to boost local regeneration.

"This will contribute towards new job creation and economic growth, while enhancing the image and perception of Salford," he remarked.
