Shopping City: sold

Published: 2010-03-25 10:57:40

Praxis Holdings has bought Salford Shopping City for £40 million. The sale of the property could spark a fresh wave of regeneration in Salford city centre.

Salford Shopping City was placed on the market in 2009 by Prime Commercial Properties, and was snapped up by Isle of Man company Praxis in March this year.

Local councillor John Warmisham said: "These are exciting times for Pendleton. We've got the PFI scheme for housing which will totally rejuvenate some of the estates in the area.

"We’ve got a fantastic new centre in Pendleton Gateway and we hope that the new owners of Salford precinct will work with us to bring the best possible retailers into the city."
