Rival developers will go head-to-head in a battle to regenerate Eccles town centre.
The bids from Tesco and Threadneedle will both go to Salford City Council’s planning committee next week. (Sourced from Salford Advertiser.)
The town is the subject of two multi-million pound redevelopment bids.
A Tesco store, which would create 300 jobs, is proposed for West One, a struggling retail park on the edge of the town on the site of the former Ladywell Hospital.
But the owner of the town’s 1960s shopping precinct, Threadneedle Properties, wants to redesign its mall and lure a big name supermarket there.
The two proposals are scheduled to be considered by Salford councillors next Thursday, February 18.
