Go-ahead for Salford shopping scheme

THE next phase of a £60 million retail regeneration scheme in Greater Manchester has been given the go-ahead by planning chiefs. (Sourced from Manchester Evening News.)
Salford council has backed proposals by Derwent Holdings for phase two of the Ellesmere Centre scheme in Walkden.
It will involve the creation of 54,000sq ft of new shops, walkways with travelators and improved car parking.
The project, anchored by Tesco, will provide around 2,000 jobs if completed to current plans.
