City’s New Year’s honours

Ordsall born Julia Fawcett, chief executive at The Lowry arts centre, is one of a clutch of proud winners of medals in The Queen's New Year’s Honours List.(Sourced from Salford Advertiser.)
 
Julia, 44, was awarded an OBE, which she will collect in a glittering ceremony at Buckingham Palace later this year.

She joined The Lowry arts centre in June 2002 as chief executive and has responsibility for ensuring the operation of one of the largest Millennium funded projects in the UK. Set in the heart of Salford’s waterways, the centre continues to be a catalyst for the wider regeneration of the Salford Quays.
