Published: 2009-12-09 11:27:02

Marks & Spencer Money, Hill and Knowlton PR and Nationwide Building Society communications and branding specialist Chris Larkin has been appointed as the University of Salford's new director of communications.

Chris brings a wealth of experience from the corporate world as well as founding one of the UK's leading organic baby food manufacturers, So-Baby, which won entrepreneurial and industry awards and is now a well established national brand.

He started work at Salford on 30 November, responsible for managing internal communications, media relations, and branding both in corporate marketing and on the web.

Chris said: "The University of Salford is a wonderful challenge for me. It has an excellent reputation and there are many exciting initiatives - such as its presence at MediaCityUK from 2011 and its plans to develop its campus - all opportunities to enhance its reputation even further as an enterprising university. I'm really looking forward to getting involved."
