Chapel Street gets creative

Published: 2009-12-09 09:54:10

Salford's claim to be a hub for creative industries is strengthening, with Chapel Street venue The Black Lion launching a new monthly music night "Just Press Play".

The Black Lion re-opened in September, having closed in June after 230 years as a Salford fixture. It is now operated by Un-convention, which also recently moved to Chapel Street.

Un-convention is the organiser of an international grass-roots music conference of the same name, "bringing together musicians and industry professionals for conversation, inspiration and collaboration". It is the latest in a growing number of creative industries activities to develop in the Chapel Street area.

"Just Press Play" started on Saturday 5th December, "showcasing the very best in old and new music".
